So it's been a little over a week, and what a week it has been! When last I wrote, I had been in Goiânia for a couple days already.  I've stayed in 3 other cities since then and attended a spiritual retreat, school wide Christmas party, and started Portuguese lessons (not in that order)... Speaking of "not in that order" for those who might not guess, it's quite difficult to rearrange pictures in this type of blog post. Happy Blog-iversary to me! It's remarkable how much has changed in exactly one year.  Today marks the day I officially decided to pursue YASC and start this huge adventure.  And today, one year later, I write this from Goiânia, Brazil, which is something I never would have ever foreseen.  In fact, only one YASCer at the time was in Brazil, and from what I could read, her placement was not something I felt called to.  In fact, some aspects of it terrified me, but while I was destined for Brazil, I could never have guessed the specifics and the wonderful people who have already begun welcoming me to life here.  So here are a couple more pictures: The balcony view of Goiânia. How is it already March??? I could have sworn that I just started my new years resolution a few days ago, and yet here we are at the cusp of spring break already.  There's so much to do, and I'm sure time will fly, so here's the major things on my mind: YASC-provisional acceptance has been granted, and my background check paperwork has been mailed in.  I now have to wait for it to clear, then I should be ready to start prepping and fundraising in earnest.  I'm in the process of booking a meeting with 5 of the most influential people in the diocese to talk next steps, goals, and fundraising; in case you couldn't guess, it's a bit of a logistical nightmare to get them all together at once.  Meanwhile, I am going to present this decision to the youth group members tomorrow night, the church on Sunday, and friends around the diocese and country after that.  Lots of details to cover, but many graces and blessings to be found along the way. Summer Camp- as a head ...
